Economic Indicator

A statistic of the economy in a country or a region. In forex trading, economic indicators are often used to predict the future performance of an economy associated with a currency. Key economic indicators analyzed by forex traders include employment rates, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), inflation, unemployment, Consumer Price Index (CPI), retail sales, housing starts, money supply changes and industrial production.
