Non-Farm Payroll (NFP)A monthly statistic of the total number of paid U.S. employees in private sectors excluding agriculture. It is published at around 8:30 EST on the first Friday of the month by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Widely used as a key indicator to assess the rate of US economic growth and inflation, non-farm payroll is typically a market mover in the forex trading. When the actual NFP data is better than the forecast, forex traders tend to buy US dollar; when the NFP data is lower than expected, US dollar normally falls as well.
